I always knew that I wanted a black and tan Dachshund and I was looking everywhere on the internet to find the perfect puppy. The trouble was that everywhere was so expensive and I couldn't find that perfect one. I came across Melrose Kennel and browsed through the available puppies. The moment I saw Chip, I knew I had to get him. I sent an email and immediately got a reponse from Missy. From that point on, the process was easy and stressfree. I put a deposit down for the dog and he came a little before Christmas and he has been a joy to have. His name is Simon and my family loves him. He is quite a character and I should have named his Oscar because he likes to make groaning and moaning noises when hes annoyed (and it is not a growl if that's what you're thinking. It is actually the funniest thing. As I am typing this, he is sleeping on my lap as he always does. I take him out for runs (he is about 4 months now) and I don't even need a leash. He will follow me wherever I go and has the most energy for a little puppy. I ran him around the park that is walking distance from my house and he loves it. Even though he is small and its hard for him to keep up, he always follows and conpletes our runs! For those of you reading this and who are looking for a dog, look no further. purchased a cavachon, and he arrived to me on November 8. I was very happy with all the flight accomodations that were set up (from oklahoma to madison, wi). He is a good puppy and his new vet loves him. His breed is rare here, and he was excited to meet him. He has a good personality. He has lots of energy, but sleeps just as often. Hi Melissa - Just a note to let you know we are loving every minute of our 2 Lhasa Apso pups. Remember, I said I wanted one that looked like she had an attitude for my mother. For Christmas we purchased Sophia a Pug, and Boomer the Cavachon from Melrose. Missy was wonderful in answering any of my questions. They arrived on a long flight from Oklahoma to Providence RI December 21st. Luckily they had each other through their long day of travel and they bonded so much so that they have become unseparatable from each other. They were kenneled until Christmas morning, when the family was settled in to begin opening gifts their Dad walked in holding Boomer - My daughter 14, and son 11 was ecstatic. Shortly after Dad disappears and reappears with Sophia again the kids went nuts. That day will be melted in are hearts forever. We are truly blessed with two new additions to the family, both of them have already had their health check and passed with flying colors. They bring so much fun and joy with them. WOW !!! We are so totally excited with the addition of our two new little precious fur balls. Our 2 new baby Lhasa pups from mom-Cinderella and dad-Snowball are just as cute as can be. We are calling them Trixie (short for Beatrice meaning 'giver of joy') and Ellie (short for Elyssa meaning 'sweetful bliss') Those names match their opposite personalities to a 'T'. I was very nervous with never having found a dog via the internet and without having a chance to 'face to face' with the pup and its home but, I must say I am completely impressed with the entire interaction with Missy and her Melrose Kennels. She is very personable, compassionate, organized, and follows through on all the details. The babies arrived impeccably clean, all neatly packaged with obvious tender loving care. Dear Melissa, On June 12th I inherited "Herbie" a black & tan male Dachshund, that was born at MelRose Kennels on Feb. 19th. You shipped Herbie to my nephew in Georgia. I received my baby Havanese/Lhasa mix (Randi) at the airport at the end of March. She came virtually housetrained, and we are inseparable! For Christmas we purchased a UKC Cavalier King Puppy from you, for family purposes mostly, and much to our surprise she is gorgeous,sweet, and close to perfect breed to her breed standard! Two days after she arrived Bella Fauna O'Frell has become one with her new kith & kin. She loves everyone and is exceptionally smart, as any cavy should be ;). She learned to ring a bell hung on our door to go potty (I train all my dogs this way) within 3 days of arrival. By Christmas we she'd been with us 4 days and we were in love! After we had dinner that night her and my husband napped off their turkey feast on our couch while I of course cleaned their mess! My husband yelled out suddenly "she'd bit him on the nose for some reason", he then started yelling that the house was on fire. We ran to try and put it quickly with the extinguisher but it was faulty, so my husband decided to grab the stockings and bows, wich had caught a spark, next thing you know hes holding a 4 foot fireball in his hands! Well we got the fire out alright with only a few damages, one partially blackened husband (3rd degree burns face, neck, arms, & hands), and a melted rug/stockings (Very lucky, but the funny thing was the 3 pound ball of fur that was clamped to my husbands leg growling and whining as she tried to pull my 180 pound husband out of the fire! It was amazing, she desperately tried to save him and actually woke him up in the first place saving us much needed seconds even minutes! Whats bad is that the fire went from a small ember when she woke him to a huge fireball in maybe70 seconds. We have Melissa to thank for such a well adjusted pup, she overcame her fear and size to help her family! Purchased for my daughters as a friend and playmate she has shocked us all with her breed quality and heroic spirit. We have a long time of experience with many breeds and are excited to add her to our family and youth showing program, who knows she may take us all by suprise. She's well on her way already and shows alot more promise. At home my daughters are her partners in crime! They all get into everything together. I would also like to compliment her ability to be calm and gentle when our 2 year old is playing with her, she quickly goes from wrestling to snuggling when hes in the room. Well we have had her for over a week~it has been amazing. If there is such a thing as a perfect Dog~That is what we received. Her name is now Reese. Reese had her Vetinarian exam~which she passed with flying colors. The Vet feels she is of excellent breed.Also~Look Mom "NO Fleas or Parasites"! Reese has taken to potty training~she goes to the door about every 2~3 hours. Reese sleeps in her Kennel all night without a peep. I just can't say enough positive things about our new addition to our Family! NOT EVEN ONE THING THAT WE WOULD WISH FOR TO BE DIFFERENT. I was very nervous when looking for a Lhasa Apso on line. My son had originaly fell in love with one at a pet Store in San Lois Obisbo. The when I had inquired about the dog at the PET STORE, "I was Shocked at the lack of information I was able to recieve about the puppies from a PET STORE". Just wanted to let everyone know that this is the place to go if you are looking to add a healthy, happy puppy to your family. We have been looking for the right breeder for many months and finally came across Melrose Kennel. Best choice we could have made. Not only was Missy so professional, kind, honest and helpful, she was very patient with my many questions in trying to find the right dachshund.
